The U.S. WIN chapter at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is excited to share the news that they have received the Outstanding New Student Organization award at the Student Leadership Award ceremony. This program is administered by the Student Governance Association at VCU. At the ceremony, they were highlighted for our unique approach in recruiting, in which we utilized a mix of social engagement and professional development events to increase our membership to 35 active members in just 4 months from the chapter’s inception. They were also praised for their efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion within the College of Engineering and beyond through their initiatives such as the Women in Engineering panel and our outreach event with LC Bird High school. The U.S. WIN VCU chapter is thankful for the support provided by U.S. WIN, VCU, and the Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department.
