DC Chapter of U.S. WIN at the RIC!

The DC Chapter of U.S. WIN (DC WIN) hosted its annual reception at the U.S. NRC’s Regulatory Information Conference (RIC) on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. This year’s event featured keynote speaker Amy Roma, Partner and Global Energy Practice Leader at Hogan Lovells. She shared stories and insights about persevering to reach a successful solution, even when you are facing an unprecedented challenge.

The first example Amy shared was from Spring 2020, when she assisted with the coordination of the New England Patriots’ effort to bring over a million N95 masks from China using their Boeing 767-300ER. The second example was from August 2021, when she assisted with final evacuation flights for U.S. citizens and allies out of Afghanistan during the US’ withdrawal from the region. In both these stories, she found that by leveraging her network of colleagues and friends, asking questions, and facilitating connections between various contacts, she was able to solve seemingly impossible problems.

Amy’s experiences highlight the importance of building professional relationships and facing adversity head-on. Her personal connections across multiple industries and relentless efforts to come to a solution drove her success to help thousands of people.

**DC WIN would like to thank: NEI, Hogan Lovells, X-energy, and MPR for sponsoring this event**
